Fees

There are a total of 44 lessons in a year.

There will be 4 lessons a month, except for Feb, June, Sept and Dec. On months with 5 weeks, there will be no lessons on the 5th week though some of these weeks may be used to make up for lessons previously missed.

Full monthly fees are to be made on the 1st week of the month in all 12 months of the year.

Hence, please do note that although Feb, June, Sept and Dec are 3-lesson months, the regular full month’s fees are to be made.

Should you be unable to commit to weekly lessons or prefer a more flexible learning schedule, please refer to the ad-hoc/per lesson fees. Pro-rating of fees is not permissible unless your first lesson did not commence on the first week of the month. Fees indicated are for individual one-to-one (practical only) lessons conducted at my place. Should you wish to register for lessons conducted at the Methodist School of Music and Sinfonia Music School, please do note that their school fees, calendar and terms and conditions will apply.

Please do note that the fees stated are for practical lessons only (not including theory lessons proper). The lesson duration simply does not allow for a detailed theory lesson. Should you require theory lessons in order to take theory exams, please understand that I do teach up to grade 5 ABRSM theory but this requires additional time aside from the practical lessons.

I do not currently conduct group lessons.

Fees are subject to change without prior notice. I do however usually provide a 1-month lead time. As you move up the grades, the fees will change accordingly.

There will be no change in the lesson duration unless you are moving from beginner (30mins) to grade 1 (45mins) and grade 4 (45mins) to grade 5 (60mins).

2018 Practical Lessons Fees (monthly):
Beginner (30 mins) : $200
Grade 1 – 4 (45 mins) : $270
Grade 5 – 7(60 mins) : $340
Grade 8 (60 mins) : $370
Diploma & above (75 mins) : $400

Ad-hoc Practical lessons (per lesson):
30 mins: $65
45 mins: $80
60 mins: $100

2018 Theory Lessons Fees (monthly):
Grade 1 – Grade 3: $200 (30mins/wk)
Grade 4 – Grade 5: $270 (45mins/wk)

Ad-hoc Theory lessons (per lesson):
30 mins: $65
45mins: $80

Piano/Violin accompaniment:
Per 1-hour rehearsal (*without travel): $80
Performance/exam day: $100
*Should you require rehearsals to be at a specific location, additional fees of $50 will apply for each rehearsal session.

I do not conduct trial lessons but a short meeting may be arranged to discuss details when required and/or requested.

Sinfonia Music School and the Methodist School of Music do offer paid trial lessons. But do note that should you attend a trial lesson at the schools, you will have to continue at the respective school. You will not be able to take up slots with me at another school or at home. (e.g if you attend a trial lesson at Sinfonia, and thereafter you are unable to find a suitable slot with me at Sinfonia, you will be unable to take an available slot at the Methodist School of Music or at my place).

Make-up lessons are permissible on a case-by-case basis. Cancellations made less than a week prior to the lesson will not be made up.
